Looking for the most breathtaking beach in the world? Want to swim with all the exotic fishes seen on those deep sea adventure shows? Interested in taking the hike of your life through some of the densest and most captivating jungles known to man? Said "yes" to any of these questions?
Let me tell you about Thailand.
It's all possible in Thailand. These are just a few of the amazing activities at your fingertips. But the true appeal of Thailand is the country's spirit, soul and of course the friendliness of the Thai people. Tourists, travelers, backpackers, and yes, English teachers keep coming back, bringing other enthusiasts with them.
Thailand has become an attractive destination for English teachers who have completed their TEFL certification. The country offers an abundance of teaching options in a serene setting.
The hustle and bustle of cities like Bangkok offer an urban setting. The luxuries of this famous metropolis go hand-in-hand with the expression R+R, or rest and relaxation. There is also plenty of countryside and natural terrain to explore outside the high-energy capital.
When you are done playing weekend warrior in the country on a nature trek, lie out on the beaches in the southern part of the country. The laid back lifestyle is perfect for people looking to take a load off and soak in some sun rays.
Thailand has a cult following among die-hard travelers because so much of the terrain is preserved. One actually gets the feeling of what it was like to walk around hundreds of years ago. The beauty of the country has remained intact. The people always greet you with a smile and an outstretched hand. There is a reason it is called the "Nation of smiles."
Thai citizens have reason to be happy. The various communities take a great deal of pride in sharing their landscapes, food, culture and relaxed way of life with anyone willing and patient enough to take a step off the trodden path and try something new.
The beaches have been displayed in feature films and in countless wildlife television documentaries. Phuket, Koh Samui, Surat Thani, Koh Phi Phi - the list of islands and cliffs to jump off of is endless.
Just make sure you build up your courage, and remember: never hesitate! The crystal-clear water you jump into will invigorate your spirit and make you feel like a million bucks!
You could certainly spend a lifetime enjoying each vista view and overlook. But you would be missing so much.
The students that English teachers encounter have an eagerness to learn English. The Thai economy is dependent upon tourism. The locals have some familiarity with English but they require expert instructors who are fluent in the language to guide them in their studies and speech.
Thailand offers many unique atmospheres and settings. Inland, you have more rustic regions, like Chang Mai, where monkeys, elephants and native dwellers are easy to spot.
Visitors to Chang Mai enjoy the late night markets where anything and everything can be negotiated, from collectibles to souvenirs and more. But no trip to Chang Mai is complete without a hike through the jungle.
Thailand has a unique, spiritual presence and when it takes hold of travelers they are overcome by the perfect mix of pleasure, euphoria and enjoyment. The effect can be so powerful that people find a way to stay and enjoy the country for as long as possible. Who would not want to live year-round in one of the most desired locales in the world!?!
English language instruction is growing in popularity with each passing month. The online TEFL Professional course is the ideal way to earn your certification. You can interact with your course peers and instructors online, from the comfort of your bed or favorite chair, at home!
The Thai people are excellent learners but they crave more schools, teachers, and instruction. That is where you come in: as the expert language instructor who can show the Thai people the ropes when it comes to English language fluency.
Natives of English speaking countries in North America, Oceania and Europe are only too happy to oblige and stick around "Paradise." You can start your adventure today!

New Year's brings about many images and feelings - a fresh start, the chance to kiss strangers when the clock hits double zero, and of course the embarrassment of writing the wrong year on documents and emails your first week back to work!
These are all rights of passage that signify the end of one period and the beginning of another. In the U.S. we are used to only celebrating the New Year for one night...and maybe the next day... if we are feeling up to it... and it does not interfere with college football!
The Chinese people have the right idea - spread the New Year celebration out over a week and live up every moment to its fullest! That is the Chinese Way!
The Chinese New Year, or Lunar New Year is a time when thoughts drift to the possibility of experiencing this monumental party and celebration in the headquarters of it all - mainland China! Why not go to the source!?!

February 14, 2010 is the first day of the Chinese New Year, celebrating the tiger. The partying and revelry that ensue is the stuff of legend, and rivals the New Year's celebrations in New York, London, Madrid and even the moon festivals in Thailand!
The Chinese New Year commemorates the second new moon after the winter solstice. It is considered the most important of all traditional Chinese holidays, emphasizing themes like happiness, wealth, and longevity - the good stuff.
If you think Christmas and Chanukah are the only times of the year for generosity and kinship than you 'aint seen nothing yet! The Chinese New Year is celebrated with an outpouring of money and gifts between family, friends and loved ones.
It is not all play though, as traditional Chinese celebrants also engage in thorough house cleaning. The belief is that with homes in a sanitary and immaculate state, bad luck is swept away, and the table is now set for good luck and a successful year to come.
Many Westerners have been captivated by Chinese culture and history. But anyone who has taken the China plunge will tell you that it's one thing to experience the New Year's celebration here in the U.S. but something completely different when you are over there, in mainland China! The partying is amazing and the setting is picturesque.
TEFL Institute has been a huge proponent of the celebration since the company was founded in 2004. Graduates of TEFL Institute have been completing their 120-Hour TEFL certification course so that they can someday travel to China to teach English in one of the educational systems overseas.

Chinese companies value native English speakers and show appreciation to Westerners by offering free housing and airfare with contracts. The Chinese people go out of their way to make you feel comfortable and welcome.
TEFL Institute is headquartered in Chicago, IL, home to a bustling and vibrant Chinese population. The 2000 Census states that Chicago is the home of 68,021 Chinese people. That number has surely increased considerably in the last decade.

The eyes of the world are focused on the small, Caribbean nation of Haiti. Along with the Dominican Republic, Haiti occupies the island of Hispaniola, in the Greater Antillean archipelago.
Haitian Creole and French are the official languages. Considered a relatively poor nation, Haiti has a rich and prideful history, unique for several reasons:
- Haiti was the first independent nation in Latin America
- Haiti was the first post-colonial independent black-led nation in the world
- Haiti was the only nation whose independence was gained as part of a successful slave rebellion
- Haiti is the only predominantly Francophone independent nation in the Americas
- Lastly, Haiti is one of only two independent nations in the Western Hemisphere (along with Canada) that designate French as an official language.

On January 12, 2010, a 7.0-magnitude earthquake struck Haiti. The capital and largest city, Port-au-Prince, was devastated. Firm numbers have not been made available yet, but at least tens of thousands of people were killed.
It will take time to determine the exact number of dead and degree of destruction. The Presidential Palace, Parliament and many other important structures were destroyed, along with countless homes, businesses, hospitals, schools and shantytowns.
The damage has caused terrible sadness but there is also the chance to rise up again. Haiti is sure to rebound from this difficult chapter in its history. Aid from all over the world is coming in and the once beautiful palace, Parliament and city of Port-au-Prince will stand tall once again.
It will take time but the people of Haiti are resilient. Haiti's neighbors and the international community have a responsibility to help and support the country, in any way possible. With everyone lending a hand, Haiti will undergo a kind of rebirth and hopefully be a stronger nation in the long run.
Haiti serves as an important lesson for English teachers serving overseas, as well as for volunteers away from home. Disasters can strike at any time but being prepared can make all the difference. If you are planning on teaching or volunteering overseas, make sure you have a "crisis reaction plan." This includes being knowledgeable about:
- Where your country's consulate/embassy is located
- Having someone to stay with if your own home becomes unsafe to reside in
- Knowing where the airport or nearest transportation is located in the event of an evacuation
- Having a system in place to get a hold of your family or loved ones if traditional communication lines break down
- Knowing where the nearest hospital or relief station is located
These are just a few things to consider when residing in a foreign country. Traveling throughout the world and seeing far-off lands is a special thing that is more enjoyable when you are being thoughtful, attentive and aware of what to do in case of an emergency.
TEFL Institute has helped thousands of people travel the world and achieve their teaching certification. The goal of our graduates is to work abroad as professional English language instructors. After achieving their TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) certification, they are free to go anywhere and land the position of their dreams.
The Chicago, Illinois based company provides the standard 120 Hour TEFL certification course. Enrollees have the option of taking the course online, in the comfort of their pajamas!
They also have the option of taking the show on the road by going overseas and taking condensed international classes, available on five continents. TEFL Institute is proud to graduate more than 1,500 students a year.
Not only does TEFL Institute offer the tools to become an English teacher working abroad, but we also advise and instruct on what to expect when you arrive in the country of your choosing.
To learn more about how we assist our graduates in finding teaching opportunities in the Caribbean or perhaps South America, Europe or in Asia -where the demand is even higher - check out our job placement assistance page.
Our TEFL Institute graduates go on to amazing experiences both teaching and living in locations outside their home country. We can help you get on a plan and path for a rewarding and inspirational experience.
TEFL Institute's staff, alumni and students are committed to supporting the relief effort in Haiti. We encourage all our friends and supporters to help in any way possible.

* The thousand-year-old egg is a Chinese cuisine ingredient made by preserving duck, chicken or quail eggs in a mixture of clay, ash, salt, lime, and rice hull for several weeks to several months. After the process is completed, the yolk becomes a dark green, cream-like substance with a strong odor of sulphur and ammonia. Yum!

Few things can compare to the mystique and excitement of the Far East. The country of Japan is made up of many large and small island. The Japanese nation may be the best example of cutting edge technology coming together with ancient culture and traditions.
Surrounded by water and housing majestic mountains and if you believe the locals, even a few spirits, the "land of the rising sun" is not only a phenomenal place to visit and explore, it is also one of the best locations in the world to profit and grow.
Japan has long been known as an international business juggernaut. For years, foreigners have tapped into Japan's efficiency, wealth and success. Likewise, Japan, once cut off from the outside world, has carved out its own style, acumen and persona in the world.
Sony electronics, Toyota cars, Mikimoto pearls, the list of superior quality products is endless, and for this reason, they can be found in practically every major shopping district, mall, and bazaar throughout the world.
From Madison Avenue in New York City, to Piccadilly Circus in London, the opportunity to consume a piece of Japanese food, (sushi, Yonshinoya Noodles, Mochi ice cream) is ever present and ever abundant these days.
The Japanese lifestyle is one that exudes longevity and oneness with the earth. There is a great respect for the land but Japanese people also have a hunger for sightseeing in other interesting locations, outside of their own country.
In keeping itself open to trade and western ideals and practices, Japan has bettered itself and now acts as a brand as well as a country. "Japan Inc." is a term that sprung out of the 1980's when successful Japanese firms began purchasing anything and everything that came on the auction block.
Few could argue with these takeovers because the Japanese system of getting things done is one of the most efficient models in the world. In short, it works. And one-time doubters are quick to jump on the bandwagon because results and facts don't lie. The Japanese work ethic is unmatched.
An outsider could be turned off to such excellence but the Japanese people are the definition of hospitality and sincerity. They have a lust for sharing as well as learning. This has opened the door for native English speakers to taste the Japanese lifestyle.
Language schools exist on every corner in every city and town. Small children, teenagers, business professionals and retirees flock to private and public institutes to become educated on the ever increasing demand for English language proficiency.
To learn more about how you can ride the Japanese educational wave to economic success and international development, please visit http://www.teflinstitute.com/ or to learn about teaching English abroad.
Start your adventure today.

If the current economy has taught us anything, it's that there is no such thing as a stable market. The supposedly unwaivering brokerage houses of New York along with the declining U.S. auto industry have left many Americans wondering, "Where do we turn when the industries that made this country great are now lagging behind other nations?"
Unemployed citizens must reinvent themselves everyday in every way. Someone who might have run a bank in January may now be working as a firefighter. A Wall Street trader may now be working in a restaurant or bar in order to make ends meets.
The point is that there will always be a need for great civil servants and service industry professionals. But as technology changes and once reliable jobs get phased out, hardworking people are turning to careers that show longevity and offer continuous growth and opportunity.
Times are tough and families and individuals may have to scale back spending. But there will never be a shortage of "American Spirit" and that unique, "Can-Do Attitude" which has always been a characteristic of this great country.
Traditionally when things get rocky at home, people set their sights overseas. While economies may falter and recessions do happen, as long as there are eager people who can travel abroad to teach English than the American worker will always be in-demand.
Have you ever thought of teaching English? It is a fairly quick method to become certified and then travel anywhere in the world to apply your new profession.
The demand for native English teachers in Asia, South America and Europe is high. To learn more about opportunities abroad go to www.tefl institute.comor call (773) 880-5141 and speak with an advisor.
If you can speak English and have an interest in seeing and living in another part of the world, than you are sitting on a winning lottery ticket. We are eager to speak with you and answer any questions on how you can jumpstart your career and have the experience of a lifetime.
